The jury awarded winners in the Business Excellence and Innovation categories in 2015.<\/p>\n The winners are students from the universities in Berlin and Darmstadt. According to the company, the standard of the arc|ademy BI Challenge entries was once again high this year.<\/p>\n Students are working in an increasingly practice-oriented manner and aligning their solutions with the urgent information needs of their organizations.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Five1, a management consultancy specializing in SAP Business Intelligence, has decided on the largest IT investment program in its history. The company is investing significantly in new hardware, but also in additional licenses.<\/p>\n In future, the new SAP system landscape will be based primarily on the Hana database. With the planned ALM solution, SAP is expanding its solution portfolio in the area of overall bank management.<\/p>\n The business focus is on managing the interest book. The solution is to be implemented in stages and made available in two phases.<\/p>\n An initial delivery with the key functions is planned for the first half of 2016. The ALM solution is to be integrated together with the established SAP solutions for managing liquidity risk, profitability calculation, credit risk management and accounting on a common platform.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sybit has received the SAP Recognized Expertise designation in the area of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) from SAP. It shows SAP partners who have proven special expertise and successful reference projects for specific SAP solutions and industries.<\/p>\n SAP Recognized Expertise provides customers with an important decision-making criterion when it comes to finding the right and competent service provider for their CRM or e-business project.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Austrian e-commerce specialist Weco Software has developed a product catalog integration into SAP order entry. SAP customers can now also provide their office staff with a very convenient and fast material search function.<\/p>\n The employee immediately has the most important data at hand, such as the customer-specific price, the current availability situation and any amount of additional information.<\/p>\n The catalog also makes it easy to find alternatives for a product that is temporarily out of stock, for example. This is why researchers at the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) have now presented a new type of financial simulation software that allows managers to analyze their company's entire production process in real time.<\/p>\n The so-called \"Business Simulator\" makes it possible to make reliable statements on the profit and loss account, product costs and margins as well as forecasts at lightning speed. Decision-makers can thus react to changing conditions without losing time.<\/p>\n With the Business Simulator, the HPI researchers have developed a tool that provides precise analyses for clearly defined questions for every company - regardless of industry and product group.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Lengthy management meetings with presentations that are difficult to understand and data that is not up to date - this \"annoys\" managers. The Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) has therefore developed a solution for how decision-makers in companies can work better in the future: with a new type of software system including a special meeting environment in the form of a cockpit.<\/p>\n The whole thing was designed by HPI students together with fellow students from Stanford University and a German company. \"The Q\", as the prototype is called, consists of a special table that can accommodate up to eight decision-makers.<\/p>\n Above them hangs a cube with eight screens, two on each side. This provides the decision-makers with important data in a simple graphic form. This means that no display can interfere with direct eye contact between the meeting participants.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Innobis signs another framework agreement with Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein (IB.SH) as an IT service provider. This is valid for four years until the end of 2018 and follows on seamlessly from the first one, which expired at the end of last year.<\/p>\n Innobis is thus one of the few service providers to continue to support IB.SH in the maintenance and development of various SAP applications (CML, GP and RBD) and the funding database-specific solution ABAKUS. Students acquire basic knowledge on the current topic of Industry 4.0, the digitalization of industry.<\/p>\n The aim is to provide the next generation of engineers with a practical and future-oriented education by giving students access to the latest SAP technologies.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Siemens will establish an open cloud platform for analyzing large volumes of data in industry. This will form the basis for data-based services, such as those offered by Siemens in the areas of predictive maintenance, asset and energy data management.<\/p>\n OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) with their own applications can also use the open infrastructure for data analysis, for example to optimize the operation of their own machine fleets through data analysis (Platform as a Service).<\/p>\n It is planned that the new cloud platform will use technologies from the Hana Cloud Platform. The Hana Cloud Platform is based on SAP's in-memory technology and is an open platform for customers and developers to develop, expand and operate apps in the cloud.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n At the end of April, the Society for Organization (GFO) presented the Process Solution Award to exemplary business process management solutions.<\/p>\n Scheer Management took first place in the BPM suites\/human workflow category together with its customer, music publisher Schott Music. The product and service portfolio ranges from bathroom (furnishings), tiles and wellness products to bathroom planning, heating systems and renewable energies.<\/p>\n In addition to Plaut, FIS Informationssysteme und Consulting was also on board as a key partner with a solution based on the SAP standard and specially geared towards the wholesale trade.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Kern Pharma is now automating its order management process with a solution from Esker, a provider of solutions for automated document processes and a pioneer in cloud computing.<\/p>\n Thanks to the Esker order processing solution, Kern was able to cut the time required for order processing and response time in half. This ensures the punctual delivery of products at all times.<\/p>\n The company receives 75,000 orders per year via EDI, fax or e-mail, 40,000 of which are manually transferred to the SAP system. All orders received by fax and e-mail - an average of 3,000 per month - are received in the Esker cloud solution. All order-relevant data is then automatically read, checked and electronically transferred to the SAP system.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n At the start of 2015, Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) optimized the processes within its company car fleet with Fleet+ from Carano Software Solutions, thereby demonstrably increasing its efficiency.<\/p>\n By replacing Excel and integrating SAP extensively, all fleet employees now work in just one system. BVG is Germany's largest municipal public transport company. They transport over 950 million passengers a year.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The archiving solution neDatabridge for SAP ArchiveLink Edition 1.0 has received the \"SAP Certified - Integration with SAP NetWeaver\" certification from SAP.<\/p>\n This provides SAP users with an archiving solution that can store data both in complex ECM (Enterprise Content Management) infrastructures and directly in storage systems. The solution was developed by Nextevolution from Hamburg, a specialist in enterprise information management.<\/p>\n For users of SAP solutions, the latest innovation means an increase in flexibility and a significant reduction in archiving costs.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sato, a global leader in barcode printing, labeling and EPC\/RFID solutions, announces the successful certification of its XML-Enabled 4.0 interface in SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure 7.1.<\/p>\n The printer interface is therefore suitable for writing RFID tags and printing RFID labels from an SAP AutoID infrastructure. The new CL4NX RFID thermal transfer and direct thermal printer is the first product from Sato to be equipped with this interface, with more products to follow.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n MobileX has won Warema Renkhoff as a new customer for the workforce management software MobileX-Dispatch and the mobile solution MIP for Field Service. With its intelligent solutions, Warema improves the energy efficiency of buildings and increases the value of real estate as well as people's quality of life.<\/p>\n With the introduction of the order planning and control solution and the mobile solution MIP for Field Service, Warema aims to increase efficiency in customer service and improve customer satisfaction. The rollout started in May. By the end of the year, all service technicians deployed throughout Germany and the dispatchers based centrally in Marktheidenfeld will gradually be working with the MobileX solutions.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Neopost, a global provider of mail processing solutions and transportation services, is partnering with Esker, a provider of automated document processing solutions and a pioneer in cloud computing.<\/p>\n Both companies have signed an agreement to distribute cloud-based solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) around the globe as part of a joint venture. SaaS solutions based on Esker's on-demand platform will be marketed via the Neopost network under the Neopost brand.
