This year, PBS rose from the top of the niche vendors to \"Challenger\".<\/p>\n<p>The company is a pioneer in outsourcing archived SAP data to a column-oriented nearline database, originally SAP (formerly Sybase) IQ, now also Vector from Actian or DB2 BLU from IBM.<\/p>\n<p>On the one hand, this technology ensures extremely strong compression of the data, and on the other hand, it also ensures its very fast analysis. It can be used in both operational and analytical SAP solutions and can also include third-party data in the analysis.<\/p>\n<p>PBS solutions ensure tight data management that outsources as much data as possible from the primary database while still guaranteeing fast access to it. Compliance aspects are also taken into account.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, PBS also offers the option of data management outside of an SAP system, as is required in the case of system shutdowns or company sales.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Archived data is becoming increasingly important in the analysis of big data.
