The takeover is expected to be completed in 2016. According to Dell, it will then be active in a market with a volume of two trillion dollars. With the purchase of EMC, Dell is also taking over VMware's share package.<\/p>\n

EMC holds 80 percent of the shares in the virtualization specialist. The company will remain independent and will also be traded independently of Dell on the stock exchange.<\/p>

Dell founder Michael Dell, his investment company MSD Partners, the investment company Silver Lake and the Singapore sovereign wealth fund Temasek will issue new shares.<\/p>\n

The two companies formed an alliance back in October 2001 with the aim of providing customers with efficient NAS solutions for the storage, management and backup of information.<\/p>\n
