It is particularly interesting to update one's license portfolio with the help of so-called contract conversion and to dispose of legacy licenses. With the current licensing model for SAP ECC, there are 1200 different product elements and 15 named-user licenses.<\/p>\n

With S\/4 Hana, this will change. For example, SAP Named User licenses will no longer be offered to new customers. The standard Named User license types will be replaced by three new types: Professional Use, Functional Use and Productivity Use.<\/p>

Before the S\/4 contract negotiation, one should check which users need which license types. The new requirements in S\/4 can then be simulated on this basis. Experience has shown that this is where the greatest savings potential lies, as the actual usage will be in the area of Functional Use and Productivity Use.<\/p>\n

During contract conversion, the ECC licenses are not migrated individually to S\/4 Hana. The old license portfolio is taken into account in the recalculation. This gives you a one-time chance to acquire the right S\/4 licenses.<\/p>\n
