On the one hand, an \"autonomic\" ERP could be a \"self-healing\" ERP: Whenever inconsistencies and anomalies occur in the Hana database, which obviously happens frequently, a self-healing process kicks in to reorder and repair the data chaos.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, an \"autonomous\" ERP could be an AI-based system that can also solve complex tasks largely independently. Initial approaches to intelligent business process management (BPM) can be found in process mining and RPA, robotic process automation.<\/p>

For both sides, the use of AI technology such as neural networks and associated machine\/deep learning acts like a turbo charger on traditional algorithms.<\/p>\n

Classic BPM is not dead, but with AI technology it is once again more powerful by a high factor. It is therefore not surprising that a race for AI technology has begun in the IT scene to ultimately create an autonomous, self-driving ERP.<\/p>\n

Atos announced a cooperation with Google in the field of AI at a technology conference in Paris two months ago. The company also uses components from the SAP Leonardo digital framework and wants to make IT processes, including ERP, more intelligent.<\/p>\n

SAP partner NetApp is cooperating with Nvidia and Cambridge Consulting in the field of AI. Ultimately, there could be an \"autonomous\" ERP - the question still remains: Will such an ERP come from SAP or from partners such as Atos or NetApp? But perhaps the DSAG user association will already know the answer at the upcoming annual congress in Leipzig.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

Is it conceivable and what should it be, an autonomously driving ERP controlled by AI robots?
