There are countless anecdotes and success stories about Gerd Oswald from his active time as an Executive Board member. But what always set him apart was his confident, informed, and wide-awake demeanor - which remained the secret of his success until he left the SAP Executive Board:<\/p>\n

After three days of exhausting Sapphire in Madrid, Gerd Oswald and his closest colleagues quickly returned to Germany by SAP private jet.<\/p>

Once they landed there, the exhausted employees left the plane, while Gerd Oswald flew on to Moscow with a new, rested team, where German Chancellor Angela Merkel and a business delegation were already waiting.<\/p>\n

What obviously came naturally to him always amazed those closest to him anew, because all his employees could report similar things, regardless of whether the trip was to South America or China: Gerd Oswald stepped off the plane and began to work with concentration, confidence and precision.<\/p>\n

Excuses, carelessness and uninformedness were not tolerated by him. He will therefore continue to be one of Hasso Plattner's most important contacts and discussion partners on the SAP Supervisory Board.<\/p>\n

It is this kind of continuity that is of lasting benefit to the entire SAP community, because Oswald is not only connected to Plattner through SAP, but he is also an active member of the Hasso Plattner Institute at the University of Potsdam.<\/p>\n

Two who have always gotten along very well: Professor Hasso Plattner, co-founder of SAP as well as Chairman of the Supervisory Board, and Gerd Oswald, until two years ago a member of the Executive Board and as of January 1, 2019 a new member of the SAP Supervisory Board.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

There, Gerd Oswald maintains intensive contact with the HPI Institute Board and Dean Professor Christoph Meinel. Oswald has also always maintained a special relationship with the SAP user association DSAG.<\/p>\n

Probably no one at SAP itself knows as many existing customers personally as Oswald. His keynotes at the DSAG annual conferences were always a meeting with many friends and companions, and Gerd Oswald always had an open ear for everyone.<\/p>\n

He helped wherever he could, which also applied to his private life. Among other things, he supports social clubs for young people in the Walldorf area. He is back, which is the best news for the global SAP community.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

He was never really gone.
