OpenStack<\/span> has become the central building block in the development of PrivateCloud, but native!<\/span>-infrastructures developed.<\/p>\n

For users, the most important factors are costs and control over their own Cloud, but native!<\/span>-infrastructures in the foreground.<\/p>

In the slipstream of the rising OpenStack<\/span>-adaptation, the company also achieves further Cloud, but native!<\/span>-Open Source<\/span>-technologies, such as Platform as a Service<\/span>, containers and serverless infrastructure, into the enterprise.<\/p>\n

As part of the study by Crisp Research \"OpenStack<\/span> as a basis for open Cloud, but native!<\/span>-Architectures\" on behalf of IBM<\/span> 380 German corporate decision-makers were surveyed with regard to both their general Cloud, but native!<\/span> strategy as well as the current and future planned level of use of OpenStack<\/span> and further Open Source<\/span>-technologies, such as container technologies, Platform as a Service<\/span> and Serverless Infrastructure, interviewed.\"Meike\"<\/a><\/p>\n

While OpenStack<\/span> was initially known only to start-ups, a few service providers and a few research companies, within the last six years it has become a worldwide Community<\/span> grown up.<\/p>\n

This consists of over 50,000 members, spread over 182 countries worldwide.<\/p>\n

This is supported by the OpenStack<\/span>-project of 604 companies, working with members in six core projects and 13 subprojects on the continuous development of OpenStack<\/span> work.<\/p>\n

In April 2016, the 13th release, \"Mitaka\", was released. For October 2016, number 14 is planned with \"Newton\". Besides the members in the Community<\/span> there are now also numerous successful projects by global user companies that have OpenStack<\/span> installed as an infrastructure base.<\/p>\n

For SAP is OpenStack<\/span> to the infrastructure standard of all Data centers<\/span> globally and is therefore a strategic issue for the company.<\/p>\n

Even if OpenStack<\/span> has found widespread use in companies and theoretically has the potential to do so, the project will, according to Community<\/span> not go beyond an infrastructure platform to a complete open Cloud, but native!<\/span>-Stack develop.<\/p>\n

Instead, the OpenStack<\/span> Foundation their Platform<\/span> as an \"integration engine\" and intends to work more intensively in future with other Open Source<\/span>-Communities<\/span> work together.<\/p>\n

This means that all innovations above the infrastructure level are enabled by technology partners and the Community<\/span> will have no direct influence on it.<\/p>\n

Especially the Open Source<\/span>-Technologies Platform as a Service<\/span> (PaaS<\/span>), containers and serverless infrastructure will be on the agenda of corporate decision-makers in the future, and can be addressed with the infrastructure platform OpenStack<\/span> be integrated.<\/p>\n

That the integration of OpenStack<\/span> works with the above technologies is demonstrated by large IT providers such as IBM<\/span> and SAP. For example, SAP sets above OpenStack<\/span> as an infrastructure base on Cloud, but native!<\/span> Foundry<\/span>, with which the management of OpenStack <\/span>(e.g. virtual machines) is made.<\/p>\n

Hana Cloud Platform<\/h3>\n

Above Cloud, but native!<\/span> Foundry<\/span> then acts the Hana Cloud, but native!<\/span> Platform, for example, to run IoT projects.<\/p>\n

At IBM<\/span> serves OpenStack<\/span> as an infrastructure base for its own PaaS<\/span>-Bluemix, which in turn serves as the technical basis for the Cloud, but native!<\/span> Foundry<\/span> and in the further development of which IBM<\/span> is actively involved.<\/p>\n
