Germany offers effective e-commerce protection and cybersecurity laws, as well as good support for international standards and interoperability, according to the 2018 Global Cloud Computing Scorecard.<\/p>\n

The study analyzed individual countries in terms of their suitability for the successful deployment and growth of cloud computing services.<\/p>

With its revised methodology, the current study shows even more clearly which policies have supported the exponential growth of cloud computing over the past five years.<\/p>\n

In particular, the areas of data protection, cybersecurity legislation and broadband infrastructure received even greater attention. Germany is followed by Japan and the USA by a small margin.<\/p>\n

The final field is formed by a small group of countries that take a purely national approach: Russia, China, Indonesia and Vietnam. In many countries, data protection legislation is being modernized and refined. This primarily affects cross-border data flows.<\/p>\n

However, some countries do not yet have adequate data protection laws in place. Emerging countries are delaying the adoption of cloud-friendly laws and hindering their growth.<\/p>\n

Examples include regulations that impose significant restrictions on cloud service providers, such as the requirement to store data locally. The lack of cyber protection measures also has a negative impact.<\/p>\n

The Software Alliance has presented a global survey on the political framework conditions for cloud computing.
