The Barcode<\/span>-solution consists of two components: the base module and the client for the mobile terminal. The base module is activated by a transport request in the SAP<\/span>system of the customer in its own namespace and provides the framework program, tables for administration, the screen designer and pre-developed Templates<\/span> available.<\/p>\n

Color, touchscreen and graphics as well as font sizes can be easily edited. Templates<\/span> reduce the programming work.<\/p>\n

says H\u00fcbner. The client is installed with a single file on the mobile Barcode<\/span>-terminal of the customer is installed. For newly developed SAP<\/span>-processes, this remains and a renewed adjustment of the devices is not necessary.<\/p>\n

\"We attach great importance to the transparency of our products and services. The Customer<\/span> sees all investment and follow-up costs at first glance. Our offer for the integration of smiScan therefore also includes the maintenance flat rate of the system for the complete first year after go live.\"<\/em><\/p>\n

Furthermore, the terminal licenses would not relate to specific devices, but to the SAP<\/span>-instance. This means that the buyer only needs exactly that many licenses when using 25 devices.<\/p>\n

Falls a Device<\/span> and a replacement takes over the work, the new terminal receives the license of the failed device. The management of the licenses takes place with little effort in the SAP<\/span> by the customer himself.<\/p>\n

In addition, the data flow is limited to small amounts of 2.5 to three kilobytes per request. Even with weak Connection<\/span> there is such a high Performance<\/span> during the transmission of the scanned Barcodes<\/span>.<\/p>\n

If the employee leaves the area with radio coverage and thus loses the Connection<\/span> to SAP<\/span>, the client saves all data and thus enables the picker to continue his work in the warehouse after reconnect.<\/p>\n

A smiScan offline client is also available on request. Is the SAP<\/span>-system is unavailable, for example, due to planned maintenance work, data is temporarily stored on the terminal or an external server and synchronized as soon as SAP<\/span> is available again.<\/p>\n

This means that work can be carried out around the clock in the warehouse, even though SAP<\/span> is not available.<\/p>\n

No middleware necessary<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As of version SAP 4.6C, any middleware is no longer required. This means that SAP<\/span> and the mobile terminal always communicate directly with each other, eliminating the need to purchase additional hardware. In addition, solutions such as goods receipt or inventory extensions were built in.<\/p>\n

Smilog offers a test installation for testing the solution: For this purpose, the complete smiScan functionality is installed on the SAP<\/span>-test system of the customer installed. Together with a rental terminal, which is used for the ready-to-useTest<\/span>-bundle, you have the possibility to test smiScan for a certain period of time and then decide.<\/p>\n
