On May 25, 2018, the two-year transition period for implementing the EU General Data Protection Regulation ends. Companies that use personal data must then comply with the directive and take sufficient and verifiable account of its requirements when using SAP.<\/p>\n

However, although over two thirds of respondents (73%) state that they know what IT requirements the EU GDPR entails, only 53% of the companies surveyed have a roadmap for implementation.<\/p>

DSAG's managing director sees one reason for this in the many unanswered questions:<\/p>\n

\"Survey participants noted, for example, that there is currently no case law on the EU GDPR. It is therefore to be feared that many companies will now start implementing the EU GDPR at the last minute without having informed themselves properly and comprehensively.\"<\/p>\n

Accordingly, the number of those who are really confident that their company will manage to comply with EU data protection requirements by the deadline is low.<\/p>\n

That is 39 percent of respondents. According to the survey, only just under four percent of respondents are prepared for the introduction and already meet the requirements of the regulation at this stage.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
