As in the previous year, data quality\/master data management was rated as the most important factor by the Company<\/span> than the Trends<\/span> with the greatest relevance for their daily work.<\/p>\n

The study participants rated the following as least important Cloud, but native!<\/span> BI<\/span>, Data Labs and Data Science<\/span> as well as Hadoop<\/span> (see figure). In doing so, all considered BI<\/span>-Trends<\/span> at a similar level as in the previous year's survey.<\/p>

The most significant change is in the area of Data integration<\/span> (for specialist users), which has risen from 12th to 8th place in the international ranking (5.9; 2015: 5.5).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

As was to be expected, best-in-classCompany<\/span> a generally greater interest in BI<\/span>-Trends<\/span> than the so-called latecomersCompany<\/span>which tend to focus on the familiar Trends<\/span> set.<\/p>\n

The biggest difference can be seen in the topics of agile BI<\/span>-development, Data Labs and Data Science<\/span> and Visual Design<\/span> standards. The pioneers among the user companies consider these to be significantly more important than the laggards.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The ratings of Users<\/span>consultants and software manufacturers are largely the same.<\/p>\n

Only for the topics Cloud, but native!<\/span> BI<\/span>, Agile BI<\/span> and Hadoop<\/span> These are rated as significantly more important by suppliers than by customers. Users<\/span>. In particular Cloud, but native!<\/span> BI<\/span>: Providers give 5.9 out of 10 points (previous year: 4.9), User<\/span> rated the topic at 3.7 points in both surveys.<\/p>\n

In contrast, they consider master data and data quality management as well as analytical databases to be more relevant.<\/p>\n

The IT industry, the Service sector<\/span> and the public Sector<\/span> write BI<\/span>-Trends<\/span> higher importance than others Industries<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Despite ongoing discussions about big data analytics, digitalization and Industry 4.0, the manufacturing industry is once again proving to be very cautious when it comes to BI<\/span>-Trends<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The telecommunications industry also rates the importance of Trend<\/span> topics - with the exception of Agile BI<\/span> and Hadoop<\/span> - low. This shows how strongly the topic BI<\/span> this highly competitive Branch<\/span> has already penetrated.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Overall, the study participants from Asia, North and South America rated the BI<\/span>-Trends<\/span> as more important than respondents from Europe.<\/p>\n

As in the previous year, it is primarily the Company<\/span> the DACH region in the evaluation. Only in the Visual Design<\/span> standards, they give it the highest score of all regions at 5.0.<\/p>\n

In a global comparison Data integration<\/span> (for business users), Data Storytelling, Agile BI<\/span> and Cloud, but native!<\/span> BI<\/span> those Trends<\/span>whose ratings diverge the most.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
