The transport management solution implemented by logistics software specialist Inconso was rolled out at a total of three plants, including functional enhancements. Since the first quarter of 2017, this has enabled up to 1,600 tours with over 15,000 deliveries to be efficiently planned and processed each month. The first site, Brandis near Leipzig, was equipped with SAP-based Inconso add-ons in order to be able to rely on fully SAP-integrated goods planning in the future. Transparency in the mapping of all transport activities from planning to invoicing has been significantly increased with the introduction of the system. In addition, thanks to the new software landscape, the SAP LE-TRA linked software components and the external warehouse management system work closely together.

S/4 certification

The EPO Connector, which has been SAP-certified since 2005, was certified by SAP for SAP S/4 Hana in 2017. It thus supports the longer-term SAP strategy and opens up additional fields of application, e.g. when high volumes of status messages from machines, plants or buildings are to be transferred to S/4 in the sense of big data, stored there in a structured manner and evaluated quickly and flexibly. "This certification marks another important milestone in our long-standing and successful partnership with SAP," says Werner Kroiss, CEO of EPO Consulting. "It is very pleasing that the EPO Connector opens up new, comprehensive access options for data exchange and reporting for our customers and is now also certified for its compatibility with S/4. The EPO Connector has already proven its performance and reliability in day-to-day business in practical operation with S/4 pilot customers."

New SAP partner

Ajco Solutions, a sales consultancy for customers in various industries and a member of the Consileon group of companies, is a new SAP partner. Celonis received the highest rating in the Technology and Telecommunications category for companies with up to 250 employees. This puts the young software company on a par with companies such as Cisco Systems, which is once again the most innovative large corporation in the same category. The award recognizes the productivity and creativity of the Munich-based company and confirms its pioneering role.

Hybris-based shopping platform

Arithnea, an expert in digital business, has implemented a central online store platform based on Hybris Commerce for the chemical company Sika. It enables the globally active Swiss specialty chemicals company to quickly roll out and efficiently operate individual B2B stores in its main markets. The first two online stores have already gone live in Spain and the USA. The solution, which Sika calls the "eShop Foundation", is a responsive multistore platform that automatically adapts its content to the different conditions of desktop PCs, tablets and smartphones. The platform was created by Arithnea to provide a quickly implementable standard for Sika's international online stores.

Certified in Hosting

The IT service provider Ibykus from Erfurt has received the "SAP Certified in Hosting Services" award from SAP. With Netlogix, Regiondo and the SAP security provider Virtual Forge, three more German-based providers of cloud computing solutions have joined the Cloud Services Made in Germany initiative. The initiative, which was launched by AppSphere back in 2010, brings together a wide range of providers of solutions from the areas of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) with the aim of ensuring greater legal certainty when using cloud computing solutions.

Artificial intelligence for SAP

Tata Consultancy Services has introduced Ignio for SAP ERP, an automation solution for faster and more efficient SAP software management. Ignio solves common errors in business processes, prevents compliance violations and reduces complexity. The solution is already available and certified for integration with SAP ERP. It maps functional and technical relationships from the various SAP modules in a blueprint. It learns how companies use SAP ERP, automatically resolves existing errors and fixes potential problems. In initial pilot projects, Ignio has reduced the average time required to resolve problems from one to 20 hours to less than five minutes. In addition, the solution includes preconfigured knowledge for the end-to-end management of SAP systems, including application maintenance, operating system and database management, to simplify the handling of complex customer IT environments.

SAP Mobile Hackathon

Arvato Systems took first place at the SAP Mobile Hackathon 2017. During this year's event at the SAP Data Space in Berlin, the participants were faced with a special challenge: they had to develop an innovative app for the field service sector based on their own business idea. The hackathon was part of the series on the new SAP Cloud Platform SDK for iOS - the result of the strategic partnership and collaboration between SAP and Apple. The new software development kit enables optimal access to SAP systems with native iOS apps. The experts from Arvato Systems have extensive know-how in both areas - SAP and app development - and thus convinced the jury.

Kone certification

The PCS access control software Dexicon for SAP receives certification for Kone Turnstile Integration. Dexicon checks the access authorization during the reading process at the turnstile and transfers it to the Kone elevator controller. PCS Systemtechnik is one of four providers worldwide to have received certification for Kone Turnstile Integration in conjunction with the Dexicon access control system. In the job market for prospective supply chain managers and logisticians, proof of appropriate knowledge in the use of SAP BI systems can be a decisive advantage," says the Dean of the Department of Logistics, Prof. Frank Czaja.

Live with S/4 1610

In March, the Uniorg Group was one of the first companies in the world to upgrade its productive SAP system landscape to S/4 Hana 1610. This means that more than 200 employees are now working with the latest S/4 release. Uniorg was already a pioneer with the Business Suite on Hana after the go-live in 2013. This was followed by the migration to SAP S/4 Finance in 2014. And at the beginning of 2017, the complete S/4 conversion finally took place in order to bring the company's own SAP system landscape up to the current stack and thus also participate in future SAP software innovations in a timely manner. The conversion was largely problem-free with regard to the standard SAP components - supported by the corresponding SAP tools. However, due to the sometimes radical conversion of the data model, the Uniorg experts were prepared to subject the third-party add-ons used and, in particular, the customer's own coding to intensive testing and adaptation.

Top jobs

According to the study "Germany's best jobs with a future" commissioned by Deutschland Test and Focus Money, the key figures of the IT full-service provider Gisa are highly consistent and offer employees and potential specialists a strong indication of a reliable and predictable future. The study is based on the key figures of 5000 of the companies with the highest number of employees in Germany. 491 employers from 52 different sectors are among the test winners. Only those companies whose number of employees did not fall in any year during the analysis period from 2011 to 2015 were recognized. In addition, during this period, increasing annual turnover figures, the
The company's earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) were above the corresponding moving average.

Furniture retailer Poco relies on KPS

Furniture retailer Poco converted its accounting system to SAP in eight months, thus laying the foundation for its internationalization. The successful conversion was made possible by the transformation experts at KPS, who worked with Poco's specialists to implement the new SAP accounting system and convert all companies at the same time. With its existing industry solution, Poco was no longer able to keep up with the move into international markets. It was particularly challenging to connect the SAP accounting system S/4 Hana Finance to the existing systems relevant to the industry, such as the furniture management system from Ametras and the Proxess archiving system. In addition, since the accounting system accesses both brick-and-mortar retail and online stores, the systems had to be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The solution has also succeeded in simplifying processes and lifting accounting together with controlling onto a common data basis.

No monthly SAP news should be disregarded.
