On October 5, the \"ERP System of the Year\" awards will be presented for the tenth time at the \"IT & Business 2016\" trade fair for digital processes and solutions in Stuttgart. This time, the Center for Enterprise Research (CER) at the University of Potsdam has announced the competition for the best solutions for enterprise resource planning (ERP) in the categories supplier industry, one-off production, professional services, retail, food\/foodstuffs, public sector, \"Microsoft system house of the year\" and \"SAP system house of the year\". \"The 'ERP System of the Year' competition highlights the diversity of the ERP system landscape in Germany and enables users to identify suitable providers,\" explains business IT specialist Prof. Dr. Norbert Gronau, initiator of the contest. Innovative office building for SAP in Eschborn<\/h3>\n
In a joint venture with OFB Projektentwicklung, Gro\u00df & Partner is developing a striking new office building for SAP in Eschborn, Hesse. This is a project with radiance: the striking new building will be recognizable from afar on the corner of the main Frankfurter Strasse\/Sossenheimer Strasse axis. It will be an eye-catching addition to the Eschborn skyline. After completion in May 2018, the SAP building will have a total rental area of around 9,000 square meters. The adjacent parking garage will create around 300 new parking spaces. SAP is the sole tenant of the eleven-storey, 43-meter-high office building.<\/p>\n

Worldwide SAP rollout at Mubea<\/h3>\n
The automotive supplier Mubea, Attendorn in Westphalia, launched a worldwide SAP rollout initiative in 2013 to create standardized business processes and a solid, integrated IT system based on them for the further global growth of the Mubea Group. Based on a modern SAP installation in Mubea's own data centers, a solution set of SAP-supported business processes in the areas of purchasing, production, logistics, sales, quality, finance and controlling was created in the concept phase. The Munich-based software company Membrain specializes in mobile solutions in production and logistics in the SAP environment and can look back on over ten years of experience. Any systems and processes can be connected to the SAP-certified \"MembrainRTC - Platform 4.0\" technology. OpenText has announced the availability of solutions for Business Suite S\/4. They have been developed specifically for the latest generation of SAP Business Suite. It is characterized by intuitive access to information from anywhere and at any time. In addition, the new solution offers support for the Hana database across the entire portfolio.<\/p>\n

SAP operation of Gruner + Jahr<\/h3>\n
Hamburg-based publishing house Gruner + Jahr has handed over responsibility for operating a major portion of its SAP systems to QSC. Following a one-year transition phase, 23 SAP and other IT systems are now being operated entirely from the Hamburg data center of the Cologne-based ICT services specialist. The contract has a term of 60 months. Gruner + Jahr is one of Europe's largest printing and publishing houses. With over 500 media activities, magazines and digital offerings, as well as well-known brands such as Stern, Brigitte and 11 Freunde. The publishing house had commissioned QSC to take over its SAP operations as well as further systems in the SAP environment, for example for document capture, accounting or bank communication. In addition to the technical implementation and integration of the respective services, the internal ticket systems were also linked with QSC Support.<\/p>\n

Business ByDesign for the stock exchange<\/h3>\n
With the support of All for One Steeb AG, the Stuttgart Stock Exchange has realigned its software landscape for finance, controlling and consolidation. The previous applications were replaced by SAP Business ByDesign. Increased requirements such as more effective monitoring of costs and performance, faster and more targeted evaluations, more flexible adjustments, more efficient business processes and Group requirements such as simpler consolidation of intra-Group service relationships could no longer be mapped satisfactorily with the previous financial software landscape. NV Bekaert, a global supplier of steel wire products, has harmonized the testing and documentation procedures of its IT applications with the help of TTS software and Belgian TTS partner Fern. Thanks to the TT Performance Suite, all 7000 IT users at Bekaert have quick access to consistent and up-to-date operating instructions for SAP applications. Before the introduction of the TTS software, the various international production sites and branches had created their own manuals in Word and PowerPoint and made them available to users on various systems such as SharePoint, Wiki or Intranet.<\/p>\n

The ZUGFeRD invoice format was developed by the \"Forum for Electronic Invoices Germany\" (FeRD) under the umbrella of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft f\u00fcr Wirtschaftliche Verwaltung (AWV) as a standardized format for the exchange of electronic invoices, as paper invoices and electronic invoices have to be treated equally for VAT purposes since July 1, 2011. The ZUGFeRD format allows invoice issuers to transmit structured XML invoice data in a PDF file to the invoice recipient, who can then read and process the data without any further steps.<\/p>\n
