The transaction-dependent calculation of the effective interest rate in the SAP system can be used to the bank's advantage in all phases of financing - from the advisory meeting to the rollover.

The effective interest rate calculation integrated into the loan management is traceable and thus audit-proof (obligation to provide evidence) in accordance with the requirements of the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin).

Innobis uses a virtual loan for the effective interest calculation for SAP systems, i.e. a "copy" of the contract from SAP FS-CML (Loans Management) including all mathematically relevant parameters.

Mobile service

MobileX AG has won Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen as a new customer for MobileX-MIP for Field Service, the mobile solution for service technicians. The company operates in the energy technology sector and is the global market leader in the control of power transformers with on-load tap-changers.

The aim of the global introduction of MIP for Field Service is to replace the previously paper-based order processing of service technicians with a standardized, mobile service solution and thus increase the quality of the service process.

Since January 1, 2017, all Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen service technicians working from Germany have been using MobileX-MIP for Field Service for their worldwide assignments. The mobile solution provides them with all relevant information about upcoming trips, order data, device data and customer history directly from SAP CS on their fully rugged convertible notebook.

During the maintenance of an MR product, they record the data for the feedback directly on site so that it can then be reported back directly and automatically in SAP CS.

The rollout of the solution to the sales and service companies around the world is planned from the middle of the year.

Tens of thousands of product components in SAP

Claas, one of the world's leading manufacturers of agricultural machinery, has introduced the Orbis Product Cost Calculator (PCC).

With this SAP-based add-on, which is easy to use and fully integrated into the SAP ERP system, the company can carry out IT-supported, standardized, transparent and high-quality product costing throughout the development process.

For Claas, this is a business-critical factor: in the case of a new development, which can take up to six years, several tens of thousands of individual items often have to be calculated, depending on the product group and model.

"Bavaria's best employers"

In the "Great Place to Work" industry competition, six MSG Group companies were named "Bavaria's Best Employers 2017". Employees rated team spirit and fairness in particular as "very good".

Over 90 percent also praise the working atmosphere. The award follows on from existing quality seals: In 2014 and 2017, MSG Systems had already been honored as a "Great Place to Work" in the ICT industry.

New release

The Voquz Group, a system integrator and provider of software asset management solutions for SAP, presented the new release 2.0 of its SAP license optimization software samQ.

The release offers an optimized user interface, extended analysis functions, the assignment of the multi-client license key and the archiving of USMM result logs. With the new release, users will be able to choose whether they want to use the tool in SAP GUI or SAP Fiori.

In contrast to SAP GUI, the optional Fiori interface enables graphical data preparation, at-a-glance overviews and the creation of alert messages.

With the Fiori add-on, samQ can also be used on mobile devices such as tablets.

Expansion of partner network

All4Cloud is expanding its partner network and driving forward its international focus. With Agilita and DyFlex Solutions, the wholly-owned cloud company has gained two new partners for its maintenance solution eam4cloud. Agilita will distribute the EAM solution (Enterprise Asset Management) in Switzerland and advise customers there. DyFlex Solutions will support All4Cloud in the Australian and New Zealand markets.

SAP App Center

Customers can find, test, purchase and manage partner solutions on the digital marketplace. The management of licenses, invoices and communication with IT providers can now be handled in one central location.

The SAP App Center now offers customers real-time access to partner solutions with which they can expand their SAP solutions and digitize their company.

SAP App Center customers will be able to purchase IT solutions directly from partners and manage their purchases, invoices and communication with IT providers centrally. This was announced at the SAP Global Partner Summit on May 15 in Orlando.

ITOA solution

Data analytics and the use of large amounts of data have long been standard in specialist departments, but analytics tools have rarely been used to optimize IT system operations.

With Datavard Insights, the software and consulting company Datavard presented an IT operations analytics solution (ITOA) at Sapphire in Orlando. This creates forecasts and models based on user behavior and system data, enabling new insights and well-founded decisions.

"Over 80 percent of our customers know little or nothing about how their data or systems are really being used"

explains Gregor Stöckler, CEO of Datavard.

"If you want to optimally support the business, you need these insights to optimize systems and costs, to invest in the right places and to guarantee the security and high availability of the system landscape."

Based on a holistic analysis of application usage and system performance, Datavard Insights enables the simulation of a wide range of scenarios and the identification of trends and patterns. IT managers use this knowledge to optimize costs, system operation or as a decision-making aid for future investments in new technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Hana or S/4.

In addition, big data scenarios or Industry 4.0 applications can be practiced and tested in a familiar environment.

Mobile service from the cloud at the touch of a button

MobileX is expanding its portfolio with the MobileX-ServiceCloud. This means that companies can now obtain the familiar on-premise solutions for deployment planning, MobileX-Dispatch, and for the mobile connection of field service technicians, MobileX-MIP for Field Service and MobileX-CrossMIP, as SaaS solutions.

Customers receive the same proven functional scope of the solutions as with on-site provision, but save on the operation of the solution, can start faster and grow more flexibly with the requirements.

Thanks to the certified interface concept, deployment in the MobileX Service Cloud can take place in the shortest possible time: A test environment for SAP ERP (CS/PM), for example, is ready for operation within around three days thanks to certified SAP add-ons.

Of course, other ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM, NAV or Axapta can also be connected via standardized web services. Despite the cloud, the company's service data remains in the ERP system of the respective company.

Business One in Dubai

More and more corporations and international companies are opting for SAP Business One as part of their ERP strategy for integrating their subsidiaries and sales organizations. As a smaller ERP variant, it is ideal for SMEs, start-ups and group subsidiaries.

The implementation time is much shorter, and all core operational functions, from sales, customer relationship management and merchandise management to finance and operations, are ready for immediate use.

Gedore, a manufacturer of premium tools headquartered in Remscheid, also decided in favor of SAP Business One at the end of 2016. The Remscheid-based company chose the existing sales company Gedore Middle East (GME) in Dubai as a pilot project.

For the implementation, they relied on the Dubai-experienced Business One specialists from the Dortmund-based SAP Gold Partner Uniorg.

Simplified OpenStack Cloud

With the new open source software solution Suse OpenStack Cloud Monitoring, companies can manage and monitor their OpenStack cloud environments and workloads more easily.

Monitoring and management functions are automated and preconfigured - making OpenStack Clouds more reliable, powerful and cost-effective and enabling compliance with high service level agreements.

Thanks to OpenStack Cloud Monitoring, operators and users can always keep an eye on the status and performance of their private clouds. The solution is based on the OpenStack project Monasca.

Employer with a "feel-good factor"

Employees feel particularly at home at IT service provider Gisa from Halle. A good half of the employees have been working for the company for at least ten years. This means that Gisa achieves better values than the national average.

The Federal Statistical Office in Wiesbaden published on the occasion of Labor Day that 45 percent of employees have been working for their company for at least ten years.

Human Resources Manager Anja Kutzler said:

"Competition for the best minds is fierce, especially in the IT sector. We offer our employees a complete package of family-friendliness, flexible working hours, home office and, of course, performance-related pay."

According to Kutzler, the low fluctuation rate also shows that the concept is working. At Gisa, less than three percent of employees leave the company within a year.

"We have a real feel-good factor to offer, which pays off effectively"

says the personnel manager.

Shortened S/4 project runtimes

Despite rapid digital change, SAP projects today are still characterized by lengthy, often unpredictable procedures.

With Project Simplification, Realtime AG offers simplified SAP project management with clear results: The customer and Realtime experts check the relevant end-to-end processes directly in the S/4 system before the implementation phase.

The standardization potential of companies can thus be fully exploited. The end result is a streamlined list of process-related specifics for the respective company. The first go-live takes place after the core processes have been implemented.

Advantage: The improved processes can be put to concrete use even before the project is completed. In addition, the cost-intensive parallel operation of old and new systems is reduced to a minimum. Suddenly escalating costs and schedules in SAP projects are a thing of the past.

IT and specialist departments thus benefit from a fast go-live of the most important processes. The legacy system can be replaced by the new S/4 platform at an early stage. All additional optimization options (added values) are implemented agilely in the subsequent release.

The realization phases, which usually last several months, are divided into several manageable units (sprints).

No monthly SAP news should be disregarded.
