Red Hat, a global provider of open source solutions, has announced the general availability of Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization Engine, a new edition of OpenShift that provides a specific way for organizations to access the proven virtualization functionality already available within OpenShift. Focused exclusively on virtualization workloads, the OpenShift Virtualization Engine provides a tailored option for deploying, managing and scaling virtual machines (VMs), eliminating unmanaged features. In this way, organizations can maximize the value of OpenShift Virtualization, while at the same time matching their specific infrastructure needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While containerization may have changed the way virtual machines are used for certain applications, they remain an essential tool in the IT infrastructure. However, significant changes in the virtualization market in recent years have created uncertainty and increased costs for many organizations in managing their virtualization infrastructure. OpenShift Virtualization Engine can provide a cost-effective, virtualization-only solution for deploying, managing and scaling virtual machines.<\/p>
