IDC study shows current situation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Leaseweb Germany presents the results of the IDC study \"Cloud in Germany 2023\". For the study, IT managers and business decision-makers from 200 companies with more than 100 employees were surveyed across all industries in Germany in February 2023. The aim of the survey was to gain detailed insights into the challenges, approaches and plans for using business-critical applications in the cloud and optimizing cloud operations. Among the key findings of the study is that the drive for cloud adoption continues unabated, with the proportion of all business and infrastructure applications operating in a cloud deployment model set to rise from 43 percent to 59 percent by 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, there are numerous obstacles along the way: According to the respondents, the persistent shortage of skilled workers and a lack of training are the most common challenges to further cloud adoption. One of the most surprising findings of the study is that the complex issue of digital sovereignty is now seen as an important element of cloud strategy. At its core, data sovereignty is about companies having self-determined control over the collection, storage, use and processing of data. <\/p>

This control is available in the company's own data center, but not in every cloud infrastructure of a cloud provider. Companies are therefore looking for ways to maintain comprehensive control over their data in the cloud as well. The reasons for using a sovereign cloud are varied: The most important (36 percent) for the decision-makers is the protection of and sovereignty over business-critical data in general. Other challenges include regulatory and governance complexity for 25 percent and security concerns for 23 percent.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
