Skills shortage and attractiveness<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Many of SAP's existing customers and partners are very attractive employers and therefore suffer unjustifiably from a shortage of IT specialists. The situation is quite different at SAP itself: In a recent publication by Manager Magazin, there is a list of the favorite employers of young engineers in Germany. SAP comes in a distant 39th place. It must be a disastrous result for SAP to appear in 39th place among Germany's most popular employers for engineers, far behind Deutsche Bahn and the Bundeswehr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAP Human Resources Management<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

HR work at SAP is a challenge. In any case, Cawa Younosi, who is responsible for HR in Germany, is satisfied with himself and his work, as can be seen from the text from Manager Magazin mentioned above. On LinkedIn, the \"Global Head of People Experience\" has more than 90,000 followers and promotes equal opportunities and more diversity. In Germany, Cawa Younosi is responsible for around 24,000 employees. Cawa Younosi seems to be popular and well-known far beyond SAP's borders - but the company itself has massive difficulties in being an attractive employer for young female and male engineers. On the one hand, SAP is celebrated for equal opportunities and more diversity; on the other, even the German railroads and the German armed forces are more popular employers. Last year, SAP was still in 37th place in the rankings, but as the supposedly leading technology company in Germany, that was no mean feat either.<\/p>

SolMan and ALM<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There are tools and methods to combat the shortage of IT specialists. With SolMan, SAP introduced an IT tool for CCC\/CCoE many years ago. In the SAP community it is a useful tool and the discontinuation together with the ECC end has unsettled many SAP existing customers. In places, ALM, Cloud Application Lifecycle Management, can and should become the successor. However, experts and CCC\/CCoE leaders are skeptical. SAP partners have recognized the gap and developed their own tools with which automation and monitoring in SAP Basis can succeed. The community can find out about alternatives to SolMan and what ALM can or cannot do at the SAP Competence Center Summit<\/a> on June 1 and 2 in Salzburg.
