This universal use of data is an old demand of the SAP community. Only consolidation, harmonization, and orchestration can deliver the necessary added value. SAP tried to square this circle on its own platforms - primarily on the SAP Business Technology Platform, BTP. This is too short-sighted and cannot succeed. The universally thinking SAP inventory customer needs an IT meta-level for all its applications: from R\/3 to S\/4 Hana to legacy software. If SAP does not provide its existing customers with an IT meta layer in the coming years, other IT companies will. The fact is that the complexity of Industry 4.0, supply chain, MES and CRM, and SRM will need an ERP metaverse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you think consistently end-to-end to the end, you need a meta level for orchestration. SAP can take this step and deliver an ERP metaverse - but this step will not be easy, see Facebook. Already, SAP's existing customers suffer from data inhomogeneity and spend far too long consolidating disparate data silos. Once upon a time, SAP's Data Hub was a real idea, but the technical implementation was poor and the project slumbered - it was also never declared dead! What has remained is the desire for a meta-level on which data and algorithms can be consolidated and harmonized.<\/p>
