For a strategic alignment of the IT infrastructure, companies must have sufficient computing, storage and network capacities. The pandemic of the past few years has shown that unpredictable market conditions require scalable resources that must be provided quickly. The economic uncertainties have led to a change in IT budget priorities for 84 percent of the companies surveyed. For example, nearly one in two companies plan to increase their reliance on flexible consumption models. A flexible consumption model can mean that companies can purchase base capacity, rent additional capacity for peak periods, and convert one type of capacity to the other at any time without incurring penalties or premiums. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This means they do not have to pay a bonus for flexibility or make a long-term commitment for short-term storage needs. There is also a clear growth in preference for operating expenditure as opposed to capital expenditure. Only a quarter of companies focus on capital expenditures. This is the result of a study conducted by research and analyst firm Techconsult on behalf of Infinidat.<\/p>
