Jens Hungershausen, DSAG board chairman, comments: \"The digital transformation and the associated networking of companies are triggering major changes in society and the economy. However, significant changes in the sense of a digital transformation toward intelligent solutions and processes have not yet been achieved in many areas. Consequently, Germany still has a lot of catching up to do and a lot of action to take with regard to digital competition. This applies to companies and organizations as well as to policymakers. The experience we have gained with government initiatives and public administration clearly shows the deficits in terms of speed, responsibility and implementation.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is currently not only a general lack of investment in digitization, but also a lack of<\/em> and openness to new technologies, as well as a willingness to cooperate in a spirit of trust. Successful digitization can only be achieved jointly and only if it is tackled consistently and permanently. However, this also means that, from DSAG's point of view, a digital ministry alone will not be enough. It must be accompanied in an interdisciplinary manner by an external council of experts from companies, society and research and installed via satellites in the other bodies. Only in this way can important impulses and trend-setting guard rails be set for the entire economy.<\/em>\"<\/p>
